Despite some initiatives taken by different trade unions, a large mass of workers is still subjected to low pay, far below the minimum wage determined by the government. The existing workers' unions do not seem much active in all the sectors to lobby for the right of the workers. Effective political lobbying in this situation can be one of the most effective strategies to address the workers’ concerns. Considering their aspirations and need, ITUC-NAC has been constantly lobbying and advocating for the protection and promotion of their rights. It has been organizing different events like campaigns, rallies, conferences and media programs to press concerned authorities and stakeholders including political parties and employers to call their attention to the legislation and implementation of Labor Act and Social Security Bill. 

The joint effort of all the trade unions both at the plant and national levels has created immense pressure on political parties and the government to table the newly proposed Labor Act and the Bill in the legislature-parliament. However, its process is delayed due to the country’s existing political transition and differing ideological interests of political parties. The ITUC-NAC intends to intensify similar lobbying and advocacy campaigns in collaboration with major national stakeholders in the future as well.
